I have been blessed with 28 years of life. I was married at 20 and had my first child at 21 and the second when I was almost 25. Needless to say my babies and I are growing up together. I have become more mature, responsible, and all that jazz...but I love AG and collecting in general. I love life and get to be a kid all over again playing with my kids!!!

Okay, no, I'm not an adult yet, but I'm sad to think that in a couple of years I will be considered adult enough to vote! I can't even believe how old I am now! I still feel like I'm 10....

I'm new to this board - this is my first post. This topic is asking a question I've been wondering about! I think I might be the winner...I'm FIFTY NINE outside, and maybe, um, 10 inside!! You're only as old as you feel, and my dollies keep me young. I say they are for my granddaughter but so far she only likes to play with the pink dishes and flatware from Kit's set, and "feed" all the teddy bears and my cat! Well, she's not quite two, so I'm giving her a little time yet!

Well, I'll be able to vote November '06, and I'm already old enough to donate blood (which I actually am very excited to do soon). One part of me is glad that I'll be an "adult", but I know I won't feel like one!

I also grew up with AGs- discovered them at age 5 in 1988. I've been poring over catalogues ever since! Luckily, I am in a wonderful relationship with someone who also grew up loving AGS- and totally understands that I'm more likely to splurge on an outfit for a doll than an outfit for myself.

There are so many happy wives and mothers on this board! I wonder if American Girl has anything to do with that? I found the dolls through the books and I know they are just the type of stories I want my own daughters to read someday!

I'm 21 and I keep joking how it's all downhill from here because there are no more age barriers to cross. I still don't feel grown up because I'm in that transition phase known as college.

Isnt is strange shuffar how you never really get to that point in life where you feel like an adult, but its the events you go through, such as marriage, that make you realize you are in fact grown up? Crazy isnt it?

Well to answer the original question, I turned 21 back in April (ON the 21st no less, hows that for a golden birthday?) But I dont really think of myself as grown up. Im about to begin my fourth year of college (the ultimate stall in growing up) and have another whole year to go after this. I also still live at home (no rent!) But technically I suppose that I am an adult

THAT must be nice. I commute about a half hour to get to school. The university I go to has more commuters than people living on campus so parking becomes a real issue since most people try to take classes only on tuesdays and thursdays. I have literally drove around for an hour looking for a parking place! Im not exagerrating and I know of others who have all gone through the same thing. Actually, it should take me 45 minutes to get up there, but I drive a little over the speed limit

Ok, good to know there is a mixture of ages out there! I didn't have any idea the number of people on here that are in their 20's and 30's! Thats awesome! I received my very first American Girl doll (Kirsten) back in 1987-1988 and my best friend received Sam and my other good friend got Molly... I remember my old white bodied kirsten got so beat up.. I brought her with me everywhere I went... from building tree forts to picnics, you name it... well, she got so dirty and mangled my mom threw her away! I dont know if she would be repairable today or not, but I still feel sad....
I still have her original clothes atleast After those days, I loved my friends Sam so much my grandparents got me one for my birthday a few years later, and I never played with her, just displayed her... She does not have the white body but she is beautiful and old! After that, I pretty much put the AG dolls aside for many years until last year when I pulled Sam out of my closet! I then got to wondering about the new dolls, etc and now I have Kailey, Marisol, Josefina, AG with Blonde hair Blue Eyes, and Elizabeth and an older Felicity on the way! HEHE Once you start collecting its hard to stop! Oh well, I guess there are more expensive collections out there so I chose a good one!
